AUDITION INFORMATION

2025-2026 Season Audition Announcement

11:00 AM to 2:00 PM

UTSA Lyric Theatre produces operas, operettas, and musical theatre. The following shows are under consideration for next season:

Doctor Miracle (Bizet), La serva Padrona (Pergolesi), Mansfield Park (Dove), The Beautiful Bridegroom (Shore), The Labyrinth (Menotti), Der Mond (Orff), Patience (Gilbert & Sullivan)

Urinetown, Falsettos, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Best of Broadway: Musical Theatre Review with UTSA Wind Ensemble*

Please note that final show decisions may change based on auditions. As always, UTSA Lyric Theatre will find a way to include as many performers as possible in our season offerings.

Audition Requirements:

If you would like to be considered for operas only, please bring the score for one classical piece to the audition. Please bring 8 copies of your current performance resume if you have one; your resume should include a current photo.
If you would like to be considered for musical theatre/operetta only, please bring sheet music for one musical theatre seelction to the audition. Please bring 8 copies of your current performance resume if you have one; your resume should include a current photo.
If you would like to be considered for both opera and musical theatre, please bring the score for one classical piece and sheet music with 16-bars from a musical, clearly marked. Please bring 8 copies of your current performance resume if you have one; your resume should include a current photo.

Auditions will be held in the UTSA Recital Hall in the ARTS Building on Main Campus. A pianist will be provided. Email Jourdan.Howell@utsa.edu with questions.
